Classroom
Project Snapshot
Classroom is a 3dsMax & UE5 project made in my spare time. The project is aimed to enhance my skill in modeling level layout and building atmosphere in Unreal Engine 5. I made all the assets and textures in the video and screenshots (except the manikin).

Tools: 3dsMax, Substance Painter
-
Engine: Unreal Engine 5
Concept
I was impressed by the yellow light utility in Japanese games like 13 sentinels: aegis rim. It becomes a symbol to express the feeling of reminiscence. The yellow mixed with red color imitates the old photo style, which was popular in the 1980s. This inspired me to produce a small scene to build a similar atmosphere. School time occupied a big part of people's recollection, this is where I start.
Production
All the assets are made in 3dsMax in nearly one and a half months.

In my view, modeling is patience-testing. Any mistakes will be amplified in the UV mapping stage, tiny modeling flaws can also be recognized after exporting into the UE5. The biggest lesson I learned is Murphy's Law: If anything can go wrong, it will.
